DeepSeas Announces Kevin E. Johnson as CHRO and Executive Leader of Human Capital

Today, DeepSeas announced it has chosen Kevin E. Johnson to serve as its Chief Human Resource Officer. Kevin is a seasoned senior executive leader who has spent over two decades optimizing domestic and international human capital operations, with a strong focus on private equity-backed and Fortune 500 companies. Kevin will leverage his extensive skill set to lead global human resources operations, employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational development, and employee development at DeepSeas. 

Chris Esemplare, CEO of DeepSeas, said, “Kevin will serve as a trusted leader at DeepSeas and will be responsible for maturing our human resource functions to serve all our employees, supporting our culture, interfacing with our talented team members, and setting up programs that directly contribute to our growth and success.” 

Kevin chose to join DeepSeas because of its commitment to employees and the focus on a culture of excellence. He explained that the commitment and culture at DeepSeas strongly resonate with his values and long-term career goals. Kevin said, “I aim to work closely with all teams to ensure that we continue to create an environment where employees can thrive, fostering personal and professional growth.” Over the long-term, Kevin’s objective at DeepSeas is to lead the company’s ongoing success by nurturing and maximizing the potential of its employees and creating a welcoming environment where they can build a fulfilling career. 

Prior to joining DeepSeas, Kevin served as Senior Vice President of Global Human Capital at Agendia, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the global human capital function of the private-equity-backed precision breast cancer diagnostic company. Prior to Agendia, Kevin served as the Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources at Envigo, where he rapidly advanced to lead HR and global operations, internal communication, and process functions.  

Kevin is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree from Purdue Global Law School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Florida A&M University, a Master of Science in Employment Law from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master Certificate in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business. Kevin also holds various certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB), Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Professional Coach (ICF accredited), and Certified Human Resource Professional. Kevin is recognized as an EQi ~ 360 Certified Facilitator/Trainer, underscoring his dedication to professional development and excellence.  

Kevin says he and his wife pride themselves on being global citizens, and their faith is very important to them. They have a family of five children and a dog named Nala. Kevin enjoys running, swimming, and strength training.  Kevin said, “In my spare time, I enjoy reading information on world events and ways to improve.  Most recently, I have gotten into biographies because I truly enjoy hearing about other people’s interests and their journeys.”
